We are sad to report that our beloved treasurer, John Hansen, died on September 5. John, a retired businessman, immediately recognised the rightness of the Palestinian cause and volunteered his services from the beginning. As treasurer he kept scrupulous long-hand records, and always ensured we were compliant with the complexities governing charities. Recognising his time was limited, he ensured the books were handed over to our new treasurer, Molly, in good order at the end of FY18. We loved John for his good humour, high standards and compassion, and his quiet service to Palestinians will be sadly missed.

What’s New

The Doubling project which was partly initiated by APPEH has had some early success. It has been responsible for financial support being provided to fund the provision of mental health services to healthcare workers in Liberia in the front-line treating those affected by the Ebola epidemic.
